Mona Lisa Wallace is a partner in the law firm of Wallace & Graham. As a highly accomplished Charlotte personal injury lawyer, Ms. Wallace has expertise in representing clients in the areas of civil litigation, workers’ compensation, general and premises liability, insurance coverage, consumer protection, ERISA benefits, medical monitoring, consumer fraud, fair debt collection practices, predatory lending, personal injury, mass and toxic torts and products liability including asbestos, silica, radiation, chemical poisonings, prescription drugs, and other similar occupational and product related claims.

Ms. Wallace attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate education, where she was a National Merit Scholar. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors in 1976.

Ms. Wallace then attended Wake Forest University School of Law for her postgraduate education. She received a Juris Doctor Degree with Honors in 1979.

Since 1979, Ms. Wallace has engaged in the private practice of law in Salisbury, North Carolina, concentrating in civil litigation.

Ms. Wallace’s professional affiliations, licenses and memberships include: North Carolina State Bar; South Carolina State Bar; Texas State Bar; United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern & Middle Districts of North Carolina; United States Supreme Court; South Carolina Supreme Court; United States District Court for the District of South Carolina; and United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Much of Mona Lisa Wallace’s legal career has been focused on consumer rights issues. She has had a long and active involvement in the Public Justice organization. Ms. Wallace is a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of this organization. Public Justice is the largest national public interest law firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and Oakland, California. A volunteer network of more than 3,000 of the best trial lawyers in the United States, this organization is dedicated to accepting and litigating cases that involve the public good. Ms. Wallace has held various other positions at Public Justice including on the Diversity Committee, Co-Chairman of the Program Development Committee, Case Development Committee, Co-Chairman of the Major Donor/Special Gifts Committee, and North Carolina State Coordinator.

Ms. Wallace is involved in the Public Justice “class action preservation project” which is dedicated to preserving class actions while opposing improper and collusive settlements that do not adequately provide relief to victims and consumers.

Mona Lisa Wallace’s active involvement in the North Carolina State Bar, includes: Former Advisory Member of the Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee, Former Member of the Public Service and Information Committee, Former Member of the Family Law Committee. Her other Professional Appointments have included appointment to the Wake Forest School of Law Board of Visitors, to the Catawba College Board of Trustees, and to the Hood Theological Seminary Board of Trustees.

Ms. Wallace is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers (“NC ATLA”). Her involvement with NC ATLA includes appointment to the Former Executive Committee for Workers’ Compensation, to the Legislative Committee, and to the PAC (Political Action Committee) Trustee. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice and the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys. In 2006, she won the NC ATLA’s prestigious Ebbie Award.

Ms. Wallace is a member of the American Bar Association and the America Association for Justice (Patron). She is also a member of the ABA Task Force on Asbestos within the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section.

Ms. Wallace has been a speaker at Seminars and Conferences on legal issues throughout North Carolina.

She is actively involved in civic and charitable activities including her most recent appointment to the Raoul Wallenberg Committee of the U.S., Board of Directors.

In May 2006, it was announced that Ms. Wallace and her husband had become a Benefactor of Catawba College.

Mona Lisa Wallace has successfully brought, litigated, and/or settled numerous significant personal injury, wrongful death, defective drugs, asbestos, multiple-claimant and mass-tort claims, including asbestos toxic exposure claims on behalf of thousands of workers.
